Prints © Elizabeth Dove
It’s a familiar and friendly question in any printmaking studio from one artist to another, “how’d you do that?”. During this workshop, Elizabeth Dove will use her own finished prints as the platform for discussing various intaglio platemaking and printing techniques. Demonstrations will include less-toxic acrylic grounds for making hardground and softground plates, preparing multiple plates for layers of color, chine collé, relief rolls, and pigment transfers. Elizabeth Dove teaches printmaking and photography in the School of Art at the University of Montana. Elizabeth has conducted extensive research into less–toxic printmaking processes, taught dozens of workshops at colleges and universities, received funding to study the integration of digital technology and traditional printmaking practices, and has published her research in the books “The Contemporary Printmaker " and “Non–toxic Intaglio Printmaking", and the British journal “Printmaking Today". Elizabeth received her BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, and her MFA from Vermont College.
This is a Demo Workshop with room for 13 Printers @ $60.00 for Corvidae members, $75.00 for non-members.
